Most of the Indians have seen Slumdog Millionaire and aware of the award winning performance of Indians in world of cinema. We all are proud of it, no doubt. Here is a story of Slumdog Players from our very own Nagpur who will play as a team in Homeless World Cup football tournament in Milan. Krida Vikas Sanstha Nagpur in association with Tottenham Hotspur, a top English Premier Club availed this lifetime opportunity for our local lads. Team includes 6 boys and 2 girls who will represent India in this tournament. 48 teams from all over the world will be participating in this event. India is representing this tournament for the third time in a row. Afghanistan is the defending champions and it will be interesting to see how they protect their title against rest of the world. Tournament is scheduled from 6 to 14 of September.
Indian National team won Nehru Cup and it should give a boost to our local team to try their best in Homeless World Cup. I am sure these young boys will learn and experience so many new things from this event. This team is being trained under the supervision of Debora Ball (England), Andy Hookes (Scotland) and Ashok Chhetri from Bengal. I wish Salmaan Khan should meet these boys to cheer them up as he is the brand ambassador of Indian Football team.
I wish very best luck to our team and I hope we will win.
