What Will Happen if Facebook and Twitter Shutdown?

As we enter the millennial generation, we are no more known as social animals but rather “Social Media Animals” where, instead of freely expressing our appreciation for things that we love or like, our feelings today have shrunken down to a simple thumb action… “Like” or “Dislike”.

There was a time when the word “privacy” held significance. However, with social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. eating our privacy like termites, our lives have become an open book for the world to read, comment & like/dislike.

Social media was simply a speck of an idea about a decade ago and the only reason for it to thrive for so long has been its mantra to “connect & reconnect” people. In fact, people have become so used to virtually connecting with friends and family that physical connections have lost their charm and value.

Well in wake of our growing dependency on social media platforms for our everyday needs and wants, even if it means saying Good Morning to our mom or dad, imagine what would the world be like if we woke up to find Facebook & Twitter GONE from our lives someday??

For most of us it would be like a nightmare. But, if you come to think of it, the absence of these virtually “social” platforms will only make us more Social, Connected & HUMAN!!

For once, we will step out of our virtual suits to enjoy the REAL world where we won’t hide our identities behind fake photos & locations, but indeed be proud to share about our real self. The hundreds & thousands of virtual people who claim to be our followers & friends, will mirror down to a handful of real people who care.

Well as goes the saying, “Seek the companionship of virtuous friends, not virtual friends”.
